Mosquito Control FAQs

How long does it take to service my property?

Approximately 15-20 minutes with times varying depending on the size of the property and amount of landscaping. Larger properties will take longer to treat.

How long does / will the mosquito service last?

Approximately 14-18 days. We stay ahead of the mosquito development cycle and will service your property every 14-18 days for season long protection.

Does someone need to be home during my service?

There is no need for anyone to be home. Just make sure all pets are indoors and any outside gates are unlocked.

What are the benefits of a season long mosquito service?

While turning to professional mosquito control services is often the best solution, last minute fixes can come with a high price tag and fair share of stress. Homeowners can benefit from investing in proactive, regular treatments.

What are the prices for a mosquito treatment service?

Bye Bye Mosquito Guy's goal is to give each customer a customized plan. Each service plan takes into consideration your property size and the surrounding environment.

How is mosquito spraying different from normal pest control?

Our process and solution specifically targets mosquitos and eliminates the female mosquitos. It also pauses the development of mosquito larva into an adult.

Do you spray for mosquitos in the grass?

We do not treat the grass because mosquitos don't shelter or develop there. The most common areas to find mosquitos are the underside of leaves, dense shrubby plants, under decks, damp shady areas and standing water areas.

We already have a mosquito truck that comes through our neighborhood and sprays. How is this different?

The trucks spray a fog that only reaches the street and areas in closer proximity. Our solution and treatment are specific to your property and target the most mosquito-infested areas on your property.

Will mosquito spraying protect my yard from the Zika Virus and West Nile Virus?

By reducing and eliminating the number of mosquitos in your yard, we are lessening your risk of exposure to both viruses.

What products are being used in my yard and are they safe for kids, pets and plants?

Yes, our mosquito spray solution is safe for people, pets & plants!

We use two primary products in our mosquito treatment. Our main spray products use synthetic forms of pyrethrins called pyrethroids. Pyrethrins are the natural byproduct of the Chrysanthemum flower. Synthetic pyrethroids have a similar chemical structure as the pyrethrins and are used in numerous commercial products such as household insecticides, pet shampoos and sprays, and even lice shampoos. The products themselves are water-based, mixed in water and will not harm plants.

Will the mosquito application affect my pond, lake or swimming pool?

Pyrethroids are hazardous to fish. As a result, our technicians are trained to avoid ponds and lakes when providing you with a treatment. Our products do not affect swimming pools. Our technicians are also trained to not allow the spray to contact the pool water.

What if it rains after my property has been treated?

As long as your yard has had adequate time to dry after your service (30-45 minutes depending on temperature and humidity), rain should not impact the effectiveness of your service. A sticking agent is mixed into the application to help the application stick to the landscaping longer. Rain is not a concern because of the residual attributes of our products. The products are designed to last, so once dry only a fraction of the product can be physically removed other than by the natural breakdown of the product. We will not spray in the rain, but we can spray afterwards.

Are one-time mosquito treatments available?

Of course! But, for the most effective results, we recommend regular services every 14 days.
